Valens Leteurtre triumphs at Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Prague!

21 year-old from France wins 2-day event at Europe’s first international Dueling tournament of 2015.

More than 600 Duelists from all over Europe made their way to Prague to become the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series winner. Europe’s strongest Duelists were all competing at the Incheba Praha on February 28th and March 1st but only one would become champion. After multiple rounds of high-level play over two days, France’s Valens Leteurtre was declared the victorious Duelist, becoming the latest player to triumph on the international stage.

Leteurtre and his Burning Abyss Deck squared off against Italy’s’s Denis Beqiri in an enthralling Final Match on the Sunday evening, broadcast worldwide via www.yugioh-card.com and twitch.tv. Although Beqiri showed tremendous skill throughout the weekend, besting several opponents, his Nekroz Deck was ultimately defeated by Leteurtre’s, as Masked HERO Dark Law was played to win the final Duel of the event.

Leteurtre is now the latest Duelist to call himself the victor of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG’s travelling event series. In addition to claiming the title of YCS winner, he takes home a prize package that included a Notebook PC, exclusive YCS Prize Card and paid travel and accommodation to the 2015 WCQ: European Championship.

For those who did not participate in the main tournament; there were several other events to take part in throughout the weekend, including tournaments to win giant Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, Game Mats and other popular prizes, such as additional copies of the YCS Prize Card Ascension Sky Dragon.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Prague was the first event in which the travelling Dueling series was held in Eastern Europe, the Czech Republic. Prague proved to be a great setting for the YCS Event. As well as being a vibrant and culturally diverse city, Prague has good travel accessibility for several regions in Eastern Europe where the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG continues to grow.
