New series of storytelling trading cards will hit retail in January 2014
Bubble Gum Interactive has taken its popular gaming property Space Heroes Universe on its first foray into licensing, with the launch of Space Heroes Universe Trading Card Game.
As part of a collaboration with Australian distributor, Banter toys and Collectibles, the new Battle cards will launch in 3,000 retailers across Australia and New Zealand in time for back to school season in January 2014.
Targeting Space Heroes fans, a key feature in each pack of cards will be a unique code for card gamers to use to redeem 30 limited edition virtual items.
The series will feature a further 100 plus cards to collect, including rare and ultra rare cards.
Phil Mason, CEO of Bubble Gum Interactive, said: “Space Heroes resonates with our fans thanks to its captivating story of intrepid heroes exploring the galaxy in search of the dastardly Lord Shadowbot.
“These epic battle cards give our fans the chance to discover more of the story as they face off with their friends with a fun and frantic TCG.”
Space Heroes Universe puts an emphasis on storytelling, with a team of writers working on growing the property into a transmedia franchise of virtual worlds, mobile games and animated cartoons.
Kris Thompson, national sales director of Banter Toys and Collectibles, added: “We have watched the expansion of Space Heroes Universe both here in Australia and overseas and have been impressed by their user growth.
“We look forward to taking the first Series trading cards to retail and expanding from that into additional SKUs as the product finds its audience.”
